On December 15th, the mixed team 10m air pistol event is expected to bring home a gold medal for Vietnamese shooting, as Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy previously won this event at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup, held in Thailand in February of this year.

After qualifying in second place, Thu Vinh/Quang Huy competed against Prabowo/Arista Perdana Putri (Indonesia).
In the opening rounds, Prabowo/Arista Perdana Putri took the lead. However, Thu Vinh/Quang Huy regained their composure and leveled the score.

Trinh Thu Vinh completes a "double gold" for Vietnamese shooting.
However, as the shooting competition progressed towards the final rounds, the two Indonesian shooters performed exceptionally well, achieving crucial perfect 10s on the bullseye.
Despite their best efforts, Thu Vinh/Quang Huy lost 9-17, thus winning the silver medal.

"In the early rounds, we performed quite well, feeling relaxed and keeping pace with our opponents. However, the pressure increased as the competition progressed, and just a few inaccurate shots could change the outcome," Quang Huy shared after the final round.
The shooter from Hai Phong also noted that his Indonesian opponents have made significant progress recently, scoring 10-point shots on several occasions, making it difficult for him and his teammates to catch up.
The silver medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event was also Quang Huy's second medal at the 33rd SEA Games.

Meanwhile, this is Thu Vinh's third medal after winning two gold medals in the women's 10m air pistol team event and the women's 10m air pistol individual event on December 14th.
To date, Vietnamese shooting has won 3 gold medals at the SEA Games 33 thanks to the achievements of Le Thi Mong Tuyen/Nguyen Tam Quang (10m mixed air rifle), Trinh Thu Vinh/Nguyen Thuy Trang/Trieu Thi Hoa Hong (women's 10m air pistol team), and Trinh Thu Vinh (women's 10m air pistol individual).
