| Technical staff from the RIC Center guided local people in planting dragon fruit trees at the launching ceremony. |
During the program, local people received direct guidance from RIC Center's technical staff on the process of planting and caring for dragon fruit trees using a "hands-on" approach. The content focused on stages such as selecting varieties, processing cuttings, digging holes, burying stakes, applying base fertilizer, determining spacing and planting density, and care techniques for each growth stage. This helped farmers master the techniques, ensuring healthy plant growth, and improving yield and quality.
According to the plan, the RIC Center will provide seedlings, poles, and fertilizer to 60 households in the two villages of Pồng Trằm and Khâu Mèng, helping to reduce initial investment costs. For the remaining villages, the Thuận Hòa Commune People's Committee will continue to mobilize resources to gradually expand the model.
In early 2026, Thuan Hoa commune planted an additional 3 hectares of dragon fruit, bringing the total area in the commune to 7.72 hectares, concentrated in the villages of Lung Buong, Hoa Bac, Lung Cang, Minh Tien, Minh Phong, etc., with an average yield of about 11 tons/ha/season.
