In implementing the Son La province's e-commerce development plan for the period 2021-2025, the Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion have launched numerous programs and activities to promote e-commerce development.
From 2021 to the present, the Department of Industry and Trade has organized 11 training courses on e-commerce for hundreds of businesses, cooperatives, and production and business households in the province. By connecting with and inviting celebrities and influencers on social media platforms, the department has created opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, and business households to exchange knowledge and skills, create online stores, and produce short videos to promote agricultural products on e-commerce platforms. Simultaneously, it has guided cooperatives and business households on livestreaming sales, video shooting, photography, and video editing skills to attract viewers. This has boosted promotion and sales on social media platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, and TikTok. In 2024, the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion also organized numerous programs and training courses on bringing agricultural products to e-commerce platforms and livestreaming online sales for hundreds of participants. This will equip businesses, cooperatives, and households with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience in online sales; promote the application of digital transformation in agricultural product sales promotion; and seek and expand markets, opening up new avenues for farmers.
To date, over 40 businesses and cooperatives with 70 agricultural products have been listed on domestic and international e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba, buudien.vn, sendo.vn, TikTok Shop, etc., contributing to an 8% increase in revenue from goods and consumer services through e-commerce in the province's total retail sales of goods and consumer services during the 2021-2024 period.
