(CLO) On February 22nd, Tuyen Quang Newspaper solemnly celebrated the 60th anniversary of the publication of its first issue (February 3rd, 1965 - February 3rd, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Comrade Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tuyen Quang province… leaders and former leaders of Tuyen Quang province, leaders of central and local Party newspapers.

On February 3, 1965, Tuyen Quang Newspaper – the official mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, Government, and people of Tuyen Quang – published its first issue. This marked the beginning of the 60-year journey of building and developing Tuyen Quang Newspaper.

Over the past half-century, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has strived and continuously developed, excelling in all assigned tasks and making worthy contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and protecting the homeland throughout various periods.

The Tuyen Quang newspaper has undergone changes in editorial management and content production, aiming to become a multimedia news organization with multi-platform distribution and a converged newsroom operation.

The quality of propaganda content in Tuyen Quang Newspaper has been affirmed through central and local journalism awards. For five consecutive years (2019-2023), Tuyen Quang Newspaper won the National Journalism Award on Party Building - the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award. It also won the National Journalism Award for two consecutive years; the B prize in the essay writing competition on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints, along with many awards from central ministries and agencies, and from the province.

Alongside its professional activities, Tuyen Quang Newspaper actively participates in social activities. Through these efforts, it has awarded hundreds of scholarships to underprivileged students; donated gifts and school supplies; built roads and installed electricity to repair school buildings in disadvantaged areas; and collaborated in organizing free medical examinations and providing free medicine to the poor.

With outstanding achievements in 60 years of construction and development, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has been honored to receive the First, Second, and Third Class Labor Orders from the President of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, acknowledged, congratulated, and highly appreciated the achievements and important contributions of Tuyen Quang Newspaper in the past, actively contributing to the overall development of the Party newspaper system nationwide.

The Tuyen Quang newspaper needs to continue innovating to affirm its position, competing with the press nationwide in striving and actively undergoing digital transformation to keep up with the development trends of journalism; promoting the development of journalistic works and types in a multimedia direction to meet the requirements of its mission.

The comrade suggested that Tuyen Quang Newspaper should continue to innovate and further improve the quality of its publications, strengthen the application of modern journalistic methods and new journalistic technologies, provide engaging and well-directed information, proactively reach out to readers, deliver information, especially in-depth information, and expand its readership.

At the celebration, Tuyen Quang Newspaper was honored to receive the Flag of Excellence for outstanding performance in the 2023 emulation movement from the Prime Minister.
