- With only about three weeks left until the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the demand for electricity increases significantly. To ensure a safe electricity supply, Lang Son Power Company has proactively implemented a comprehensive set of solutions, focusing on promoting electricity conservation among the public during the Tet holiday.

Ms. Ly Thanh Huyen, Deputy Head of Business Department, Lang Son Power Company, shared: "The Lunar New Year is a time when people's electricity demand increases significantly, especially for household electricity used for lighting, decoration, food preservation, and service and commercial activities... Particularly, if the weather during Tet is as cold as it has been recently, the electricity load will certainly increase even more."
The increase in electricity demand during the same period places considerable pressure on the management and operation of the power system by the electricity sector. Therefore, to reduce electricity load and ensure stable electricity supply for customers, in parallel with implementing technical solutions, Lang Son Power Company directed its departments and regional power management teams to focus on promoting electricity saving to change customers' electricity usage habits, thereby contributing to minimizing electricity consumption during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse.
Accordingly, in addition to coordinating with media agencies to implement communication programs promoting electricity saving to every household in the area, the company's affiliated units also actively encourage customers to use electricity economically and advise on some solutions for safe, economical, and efficient electricity use via Zalo, Facebook, etc.
In particular, regional power management teams have established outreach teams to directly inform households in their managed areas about using electricity economically and efficiently, turning off unnecessary electrical appliances, and limiting the use of high-energy consuming devices such as air conditioners, water heaters, heating equipment, and decorative lighting systems.
According to Mr. Dao Xuan Thanh, Team Leader of the Lang Son Power Management Team, to ensure safe and stable electricity supply during the Lunar New Year holiday, the team (responsible for 4 wards and the communes of the former Cao Loc district) has directed the teams in charge of the wards and communes to conduct regular inspections of the area, integrating this with public awareness campaigns for each household, guiding customers on methods of saving and using electricity efficiently.
In addition, other regional power management teams in the province are also focusing on disseminating information about electricity saving solutions and how to use household electrical appliances efficiently, safely, and economically during the Lunar New Year holiday, thereby contributing to minimizing electricity consumption during the Lunar New Year.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Block 20, Ky Lua Ward) shared: "Last Lunar New Year, my family often used many electrical appliances simultaneously, such as televisions, lighting, air conditioners, decorative lights, etc., running all day. This caused a high electricity consumption during the Tet holiday. Thanks to the electricity company's staff who educated and guided us on solutions for saving and using electricity efficiently, my family will apply these methods and be more conscious of saving electricity during the upcoming Lunar New Year of the Horse in 2026."
In fact, Lang Son Power Company is coordinating with the local authorities of communes and wards to organize extensive awareness campaigns for all households on safe, economical, and efficient electricity use. Through these campaigns, the awareness and habits of safe and economical electricity use among people in the province will be improved, thereby contributing to reducing electricity load during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) in particular, and during cold weather in general.
