According to Sputnik news agency, the main topics of discussion during Russia's month as President of the Security Council will be solutions for the Middle East, a new global "security equation," and UN cooperation with regional organizations such as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

In an interview, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, stated that Moscow had planned these three important events during its presidency of the Security Council.

Specifically, an open debate on multilateral cooperation aimed at building a more just, democratic, and sustainable world order is scheduled for July 16th. At this meeting, Russia will raise the issue of a new global "security equation."

An open debate on the topic of resolving the situation in the Middle East is scheduled to take place on July 17th.

Both meetings on July 16 and 17 are expected to be chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. It remains unclear what the situation will be regarding the granting of US visas to the head of the State Department and his delegation.

On July 19th, the third important event of Russia's presidency is scheduled to take place: a debate in the Security Council on cooperation between the UN and regional organizations, specifically the CSTO, CIS, and SCO.

Among other issues, discussions may also take place during Russia's presidency of the UN Security Council regarding the Ukrainian military's ATACMS missile attack by the US on a beach in Sevastopol.

The Security Council is a permanent body of the UN, primarily responsible for maintaining international peace and security. The presidency of the Security Council rotates monthly between different countries. South Korea chaired the Security Council in June.
