Kuwaiti officials announced that Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah died on December 16, but did not specify the cause.
In November, he was hospitalized due to health problems. At that time, his health was stable.
His passing is a great loss to the Middle East region. He was known for his role in mediating conflicts in the region.
