(PLVN) - At approximately 6:00 AM today, Typhoon No. 1 was about 145km east of Bach Long Vi Island. The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting predicts that Typhoon No. 1 will change direction to the North-Northeast and will gradually weaken by around 4:00 PM today.

At approximately 6:00 AM today, the typhoon's center was located at about 20.1 degrees North latitude and 109.0 degrees East longitude, about 145 km east of Bach Long Vi Island. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon were at level 10-11 (89-117 km/h), with gusts up to level 13. The forecast for the next 3 hours is that the typhoon will move in a North-Northeast direction at a speed of approximately 10 km/h.

Due to the impact of typhoon No. 1, Northern Vietnam (including the island districts of Co To and Bach Long Vi) will experience strong winds of level 7, with winds near the center of the typhoon reaching levels 8-9, gusting to level 13, and sea waves 2-4m high, 4-6m in the East, with very rough seas.

In the northwestern part of the North East Sea, there are strong winds of force 6, gusting to force 8, with waves 2-4 meters high and rough seas.

Vessels operating in the aforementioned hazardous areas are susceptible to the effects of thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and high waves.

Inland, the coastal areas of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong will experience strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8; the coastal areas of Thai Binh and Nam Dinh will have strong winds of level 4-5, gusting to level 6-7.
