On the morning of March 22nd, the 2026 Olympic Run "For the Health of All People - For the Security of the Fatherland," the largest ever held, was jointly organized nationwide by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security , and the People's Committees of 34 provinces and cities.
This is a practical mass sports activity, aimed at commemorating the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's "Call to the entire nation to practice physical exercise"; the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education sector (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2026) and the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the People's Security Force (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026).
In the atmosphere of the entire Party, army, and people celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress and the elections of National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, this event has practical significance, contributing to promoting the physical training and sports movement throughout society.

The 2026 Olympic Run "For the Health of All People - For the Security of the Fatherland" attracted the participation of over 1.2 million people nationwide. The highlight of the event was the large-scale activities organized in the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which received enthusiastic support from a large number of people and organizations.
In Hanoi, the Olympic Run Day was held in the Hoan Kiem Lake area with the participation of approximately 17,000 people, including officers and soldiers of the armed forces, officials, employees, and citizens of the capital city.
Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives from various city departments and agencies attended the event along with approximately 6,000 students, young people, athletes, officials, soldiers of the armed forces, and citizens of the city.
The campaign "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh" has been widely implemented in recent times. To date, the percentage of people regularly practicing physical exercise and sports has reached approximately 38.5% of the population; the percentage of sports-oriented families has reached 28.9%; and there are more than 100,000 sports clubs operating effectively nationwide.
Along with the rest of the country, Ho Chi Minh City's sports and physical education movement has always been maintained and developed, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life to participate.

The Olympic Run Day also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and the will to train the body to build and protect the Fatherland; closely linking the health of the entire population with the task of maintaining security, order, and social safety.
The enthusiasm of the event is expected to contribute to promoting the physical training movement to continue spreading strongly to every agency, unit, school, residential area, and family; so that practicing sports and physical exercise truly becomes a daily habit, contributing to building a healthy community.
According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, in the coming time, ministries, sectors, and localities need to continue to pay attention to and promote the dissemination of information, invest in grassroots sports facilities, and diversify activities to develop the movement sustainably.
Since 2015, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Olympic Committee have launched the annual "Olympic Run - For the Health of All People" nationwide. This is a practical activity aimed at promoting the movement "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh" and the movement "Be healthy to build a career and defend the country" for the younger generation of the country, contributing to improving health to serve learning, work, production, construction and defense of the Fatherland.
