This is a picture of Ronaldinho being arrested in Paraguay in 2020.

The Ronaldinho case unexpectedly heated up again when Dalia Lopez, the main suspect in the fake document ring, was arrested in Asuncion (Paraguay) after six years on the run.

Immediately after her arrest on April 2nd, she was detained, and on April 13th, a Paraguayan court decided to hold her in pretrial custody due to concerns about the risk of her fleeing.

According to the allegations, Lopez provided fake Paraguayan passports to Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto de Assis Moreira for a trip to the country in March 2020. This trip was also arranged by her, with the purpose of attending a charity event for underprivileged children.

Just two days after arriving in Paraguay, Ronaldinho and his brother were arrested for using forged documents. The Brazilian legend spent nearly a month in jail. He was then placed under house arrest in a hotel in Asuncion for another four months after posting a $1.6 million bail.

The puzzling aspect of the case lies in the fact that Brazilian citizens can enter Paraguay without a passport, using only identification documents. To this day, Ronaldinho's motive for using forged documents remains unclear.

The decision to detain Lopez is seen as a significant step in the handling of the case. Paraguayan authorities have determined that this is a case involving organized crime, with complex details yet to be fully clarified.

After years of silence, Ronaldinho's fake passport scandal is once again attracting attention. Notably, the documentary about Ronaldinho, set to be released on April 16th, also reveals details about his time in prison.

The scene at the Olympic Stadium in Brazil engulfed in flames: On the morning of April 8th, a fire broke out at the velodrome in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Park, but fortunately, there was not much damage.
