Thanh Thanh's reading journey is like a small, steady stream, quietly nurtured by each page she read since she was a middle school girl. Her love of literature blossomed and was cultivated by the philosophical and humanistic teachings of her teachers – not just dry knowledge, but a source of inspiration about the beauty of language, about truth, goodness, and beauty, along with countless lessons about human relationships. During those years, Thanh Thanh realized that Literature was not simply a subject; it was a place where she found a connection with her soul.
The dedication and burning passion of her teachers in each lesson opened the door for Thanh to the horizon of knowledge. Thanh Thanh not only memorized the excerpts but truly lived and felt each character. Thanks to her profound ability to absorb and her rich vocabulary, cultivated through continuous reading, Thanh Thanh quickly affirmed her talent. Winning first prize in Literature in the city-level excellent student competition in the 7th grade was a significant milestone, confirming her love and seriousness towards literature.
Entering high school at Nguyen Hue High School, Thanh Thanh's love of books grew stronger and more clearly defined. She didn't just read for herself, but began thinking about how to invite her friends to join her on this wonderful journey.
As soon as the school announced the Yen Bai Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest (before the merger), Thanh Thanh registered and won the Ambassador title. This motivated Thanh to continue her journey of self-discovery with the expanded national-scale contest – organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a major platform to promote reading among young people. To participate in the contest, contestants needed not only good reading comprehension skills but also the ability to inspire and persuade others with their own stories.
Thanh's entry for the competition was not flowery but imbued with sincerity and simplicity. It is this very straightforwardness that gives it weight, vividly portraying the miraculous power of books, helping readers understand that books are a silent guiding light, not merely knowledge but also a spiritual remedy that profoundly changes perceptions and illuminates every "nook and cranny" of the soul.
Thanh's entry for the competition described how she bravely faced the uncertainties and emotional storms of adolescence, transforming those difficulties into a springboard for growth. It resonated with readers through empathy, not through words. The result was an Encouragement Award in the 2025 National Reading Culture Ambassador Competition. This award is not only a personal honor but also a confirmation of the enduring value of reading in the digital age.
This award provides a solid foundation for me to continue spreading my love and passion for reading. What I hope for most is to see more people proactively seek out and patiently engage with each page of a book, because books are great friends and teachers with comprehensive knowledge.
