TKV ensures self-reliance and safety.

In 2025, the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV) aims to contribute 25,500 billion VND to the state budget; consume 50 million tons of coal, and produce 36.85 million tons of coal. To achieve these targets, member units are intensifying labor and production emulation campaigns from the very first days and months of operation.

To enhance awareness of occupational safety and health (OSH) self-management, the Da Bac Stone Logistics Company has consistently diversified its training programs on OSH for managers and employees. Emphasis has been placed on training employees in identifying safety hazards based on the principle of prevention as the top priority; creating conditions for employees to access and master science and technology in production, and to improve working conditions. This has minimized potential risks, contributing to employee morale, increased income, and improved company productivity.

The company has provided labor insurance for its employees in accordance with the State's regulations for each industry; machinery for occupational safety has been fully purchased, creating favorable conditions for inspecting and controlling hazardous and toxic factors; hazardous work allowances are well implemented, and regular medical check-ups are organized… Worker Dang Thi Thanh Hoa, from the Mao Khe Equipment Operation Workshop, shared: “Workers take safety self-reliance seriously, becoming a conscious effort in the work process. In particular, the company pays great attention to inspecting, guiding, encouraging, reminding, and mentoring new workers.”

Mr. Vo Khac Nghiem, Director of Da Bac Coal and Transportation Company, said: The company has invested in many new technologies and modern safety equipment in production, such as a system to prevent drivers from falling asleep at the wheel, a train tracking system, a GPS system on transport vehicles, and camera systems at coal depots and production sites. At the same time, we have intensified communication to ensure that workers understand and effectively implement self-care safety practices based on five principles: protecting yourself and your colleagues; asking questions if you don't understand; not doing something you don't know; and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

In 2024, TKV implemented its plans and tasks under challenging conditions, including the need to mine deeper and further away, geological changes compared to the initial design; the nature of the work being arduous and hazardous, with potential safety risks due to increasing mine pressure, gas pressure, and groundwater levels; and extreme weather changes, especially Typhoon No. 3, which severely impacted production…

In this context, the Group and its member units invested nearly 1,400 billion VND in occupational safety and health, equivalent to 101.7% of the plan; 91,583 employees received health check-ups meeting the required standards, achieving 98.1%. At the same time, they continuously focused on investing in new technologies for production, investing in advanced and modern equipment to improve safety in labor and production; and strengthening specialized and unscheduled inspections of occupational safety and health at all units...

In implementing occupational safety and health measures in 2025, TKV sets the goal of striving to reduce serious labor accidents in both the number of incidents and the number of victims compared to 2024; overcoming existing shortcomings in occupational safety and health work; strictly implementing the resolutions of the TKV Party Committee and the TKV directives on occupational safety and health; further enhancing the leadership effectiveness of Party committees, the operational efficiency of the political system, and the sense of responsibility of heads of departments; and continuing to promote safety training and awareness campaigns, as well as safety self-reliance…

According to Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of TKV Group: To achieve the 2025 goal of "Safety - Unity - Development - Efficiency," the Group always considers occupational safety and health (OSH) as a top priority in its production and business activities. Recognizing that 2025 will see high labor intensity, difficult production conditions, and climate change affecting OSH, the Group will continue to strengthen leadership, guidance, inspection, and supervision, especially in identifying risks to prevent and eliminate them early, proactively, and at the grassroots level; continue to promote "three transformations" and digital transformation, invest in and apply advanced technologies, and eliminate old, outdated technologies that pose safety risks in all types of production; enhance the responsibility of management staff and production supervisors at the site and workshop levels; and improve the quality and effectiveness of OSH training and awareness campaigns.
