According to the organizers, in this lab, young Vietnamese artists will experiment, break new ground, and collaborate with global artists to create first-ever collaborations in Vietnamese music history, resulting in unprecedented "sound wonders."

Tlinh kicks off 8Wonder's Wonder Sound Lab's ambitious campaign.

Beyond simply collaborating and performing together on the same stage, Wonder Sound Lab also aims to release the collaborative song/music video with the hashtags #MadeInVietnam #HeardWorldwide, making it popular globally.

Each season will feature a unique Vietnam-international collaboration, marking a new milestone and inspiring a new generation of young artists to dare to dream of a global audience.

Vingroup 's 8Wonder aims to create a long-term creative axis, starting from the laboratory, breaking musical boundaries, blending genres, languages, and styles to connect and harmonize Vietnamese and international artists in an inspiring, blended product.

The focus is on depicting the entire process, from the initial idea to creating the beat, writing the lyrics, and finally achieving explosive success on stage and spreading globally.

Tlinh, a young and energetic female rapper with a large fan base, whose album ranked 15th on NME's list of the 25 best albums in Asia in 2023, is the Vietnamese artist chosen to kick off this ambitious endeavor.

According to the latest information, Tlinh will collaborate with J Balvin, just as previously teased. On her personal TikTok, the artist posted a 50-second music clip featuring melodies from " I Like It " - a hit by "the king of contemporary Latin music" J Balvin - along with comments from herself and 8Wonder below. It's highly likely that Tlinh will be collaborating with J Balvin, marking the beginning of this sound lab project.

The first time and a new turning point.

Dare to dream big beyond your borders – why is that so important?

Over the years, Vietnam has welcomed numerous international artists such as BlackPink, Charlie Puth, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Ronan Keating, Backstreet Boys, Michael Learns to Rock, Scorpions, Boney M, Kenny G, and the Bond Quartet… They come to hold concerts, live shows, or perform at various brand events.

However, there are virtually no collaborations between Vietnamese and foreign artists on the same stage. International artists only see Vietnam as a potential destination or come for the high fees… once the performance is over, that's it.

Aside from some interactions like wearing ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), conical hats, saying a few cute Vietnamese phrases like "I love Vietnam," "I will miss you," or expressing their impressions of Vietnamese food, when asked, international artists said they knew very little or had not explored much about Vietnamese music . They also had no desire for cultural exchange through music.

At press conferences when Kenny G or the Bond Quartet perform in Vietnam, when asked why there are no collaborations between international and Vietnamese artists, the answer the press usually receives is that the international artists want an "original" set of their own.

This means there's still a certain distance even when these stars come to our country and perform.

Therefore, at 8Wonder, the collaboration between a Vietnamese artist and a global star on a project, performing on the same stage, and then releasing a joint product, has created a significant step forward in the integration of contemporary Vietnamese music with world music.

There, domestic artists can share the stage with world-renowned names, harmonizing and connecting in a captivating musical space, with visually stunning performances and sublime emotions, regardless of skin color, race, or nationality. They engage in powerful cultural exchange through music without any constraints.

This collaboration also provides an opportunity for young Vietnamese artists to interact and learn from the world's hit-making "machines," encouraging them to confidently create and reach international audiences.

It also sets new standards for Vietnamese artists to improve themselves, upgrade their skills, collaborate with world stars, and reach beyond their borders.
