Opening Ceremony of Son Tay Tourism Year

To support tourism activities, Son Tay town has implemented a comprehensive set of solutions to effectively exploit and develop its potential in terms of natural conditions, culture, history, and human resources for socio -economic development, especially tourism development. This includes focusing on eco-tourism, resort tourism, and tourism linked to spiritual, cultural, and experiential tourism.

With its many valuable natural resources, Son Tay town has a great advantage in developing the tourism and service industries. According to the general planning for the construction of Hanoi Capital City until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Son Tay town is identified as one of the five satellite cities of the Capital City, characterized as a historical and cultural city and a tourist and resort city.

Regarding tourism information for the year, Mr. Le Dai Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Tay town, said: “With its favorable geographical location only about 45km from the center of Hanoi , its advantageous natural conditions and rich history of the Doai region, Son Tay town has all the advantages to develop tourism, especially resort tourism and cultural tourism. Many tourism products with diverse segments, suitable for various groups of tourists and always creating freshness, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature or experience 5-star luxury resorts, are becoming a favored destination for family vacations or organizing events for agencies and organizations.”

At the opening ceremony of the Son Tay - Xu Doai Tourism Year 2023, Son Tay town will announce the decision of Hanoi City recognizing Long Ho Lake tourist site in Kim Son commune and Glory Resort tourist site in Xuan Son commune.

Introducing the Long Ho tourist destination, Mr. Vu Huy Nam, Secretary of the Party Committee of Kim Son commune, said: “The Long Ho village tourist destination has a natural land area of 90 hectares with a landscape that still retains many pristine features, bordering the picturesque Dong Mo Lake and Provincial Road 88 in Ba Vi district, making it easy for tourists to travel from the center of Hanoi and other provinces and cities. These are favorable conditions for developing experiential tourism. Since 2020, the Party Committee and the government of Kim Son commune have been orienting the development of the Long Ho village tourist destination with the direct participation of 14 tourism businesses, developing according to many diverse models.”

Following the opening ceremony of the Son Tay - Xu Doai Tourism Year 2023, Son Tay town organized an introduction to several interconnected tourist attractions in the area, offering visitors a variety of interesting experiences. For example, Ngoc Khanh PEARL, owned by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Khanh in Long Ho village, Kim Son commune, offers visitors the experience of owning jewelry made from pure pearls cultivated and grafted directly at the facility. Nha Duoi Homestay offers a range of services including sightseeing, photography, accommodation, relaxation, and experiencing health-care herbal products.

Contributing to the development of trade and tourism in Son Tay town, Glory Resort provides accommodation, relaxation, and experiences for tourists. Mr. Nguyen Hai Tien, Deputy Director of Glory Resort, introduced: “This multi-functional resort, combining services for three generations, is the first of its kind in Vietnam, featuring 108 neoclassical-style hotel rooms and villas with luxurious and comfortable interiors, 3 restaurants, and a large ballroom equipped with modern sound and lighting systems.”

The opening ceremony of the Son Tay - Xu Doai Tourism Year 2023 and the announcement of the decision to recognize two tourism products as city-level tourist destinations created a joyful and exciting atmosphere, meeting the needs for recreation and entertainment, attracting tourists to visit and relax, and contributing to promoting the development of the local tourism economy.

The opening ceremony of the Son Tay - Xu Doai Tourism Year 2023 will take place on May 27th.
