Earlier, Russian media reported that a judge at a Moscow court had also ruled that Google must pay more than 16 billion rubles for failing to pay previous administrative fines.
Since 2020, Russian courts have repeatedly fined Google on charges such as failing to remove banned content, failing to comply with requirements to store user data within Russian territory, and other administrative violations. The company has also been fined for blocking YouTube accounts of several Russian television channels.
