Ho Chi Minh City: Organizing short film festival

This is an event that is planned to be held every two years with the expectation of encouraging creativity, promoting potential in short film making, honoring outstanding works, rich in artistic value, humanity, expressing the spirit and qualities of Vietnamese people. The symbol chosen for the Ho Chi Minh City Short Film Festival is the bee.

Professional and amateur filmmakers can submit projects to compete in 3 categories: feature film (maximum 45 minutes), documentary (maximum 15 minutes), animation (maximum 10 minutes). The number of films participating in the competition is unlimited and must be made from 2020 to 2023. The deadline for submitting applications and works is September 30 (according to the postmark ).

Films that pass the preliminary round will be selected to the next round to compete in each category according to the structure: first prize (Golden Bee), second prize (Silver Bee), third prize and encouragement. Some prizes are for the film crew such as director, screenwriter, actors. In addition, the organizing committee will award 1 Best Film award at the Ho Chi Minh City Short Film Festival, selected by the organizing committee, regardless of the type of competition.

To enrich and attract the event, the organizers also held a discussion with the theme "The power of short films in promoting social change and development in Ho Chi Minh City" chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association with the participation of experts and people working in the field of cinema... This is considered an opportunity for those who are passionate about cinema, want to try their hand at short films to reach their dream of making feature films.
