Ho Chi Minh City has over 100 4-star OCOP products.

Ho Chi Minh City has recognized 419 OCOP products from 155 entities; of which 312 products achieved 3 stars and 107 products achieved 4 stars.

On the evening of June 29th, at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1), the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, organized the ceremony to announce and award the decision recognizing 28 products from 5 entities as OCOP (One Commune One Product) products for 2024.

Specifically, Can Gio Yen Dao Investment, Trading and Service Company Limited has 16 products; Saigon Agricultural Corporation One-Member Branch - Saigon Livestock and Food Processing Company Limited has 7 products; Song Khoe Production, Trading and Service Company Limited has 3 products; Global Trade Link Company Limited and Vietnam Coconut Joint Stock Company each have 1 product recognized as meeting OCOP 4-star standards in 2024.

Products that meet the standards will be granted a Certificate and the right to use the OCOP logo and star rating to print or affix to their packaging. The certificate is valid for 36 months from the date of issuance.

The OCOP program is a rural economic development initiative based on local advantages, originating in Japan and now implemented in more than 40 countries.

Attending and speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that while previously OCOP products were limited to key products, handicrafts, and ornamental plants, they have now expanded to include food, beverages, medicinal herbs, community tourism services, and tourist destinations…

As of the end of June 2025, Ho Chi Minh City had recognized 419 OCOP products from 155 entities; of which 312 products achieved 3 stars and 107 products achieved 4 stars. However, OCOP products in Ho Chi Minh City are still not commensurate with their potential and advantages.

“In the coming time, when Ho Chi Minh City merges with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the new Ho Chi Minh City will have favorable conditions to develop the OCOP program. I request that the Department of Science and Technology continue to support OCOP entities regarding intellectual property rights; the Department of Industry and Trade support connectivity and trade promotion; and the Department of Tourism connect tourism routes with production and business establishments. The People's Committees of wards and communes should proactively introduce local OCOP products and strengthen inspection and supervision of product quality after they are recognized as OCOP products,” Comrade Nguyen Van Dung requested.
