On the morning of February 26th, early voting stations in Phuoc Thang ward, Tam Thang ward, and Long Son commune (Ho Chi Minh City) simultaneously opened.

Voters in the four early voting zones arrived very early to exercise their civic rights, participating in the election of representatives to the 16th National Assembly and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term. These are personnel who regularly perform patrol duties, are on combat readiness duty, operate ships, offshore platforms, oil rigs, and other offshore structures on long-term schedules, and therefore cannot participate in voting on the national election day, March 15, 2026.

According to observations by reporters from Vietnam Women's Newspaper at polling station number 4 located at Vung Tau airport (Tam Thang ward), despite the rainy weather, voters who are officials and employees working at the Vietnam-Russia joint venture Vietsovpetro, along with contractors working on offshore projects, oil rigs, and marine vessels, arrived early and were ready to cast their votes.

Mr. Vo Van Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Organizing Committee inspected the preparations before the opening of the election.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere of early voting at the onshore polling station located at the headquarters of the 2nd Fisheries Patrol Detachment (polling station No. 2, Phuoc Thang Ward) was also lively. This polling station welcomed voters who are officers and soldiers of the 3rd Coast Guard Region Command, the 2nd Fisheries Patrol Detachment, and the Permanent Militia Squadron of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, with a total of nearly 400 voters at both the onshore and offshore polling stations.

Besides the opening ceremony of the early election, at the port of the 2nd Fisheries Patrol Detachment, Phuoc Thang ward, a farewell ceremony was also held for the working group heading out to sea to deliver ballot boxes to the forces working offshore.

4 early voting zones in Ho Chi Minh City

Polling station No. 1 is located in Phuoc Thang ward (comprising Naval Squadron 128 and Naval Squadron 129 of the Navy). The onshore polling station is located at the headquarters of Naval Squadron 129; the voting at sea covers the entire sea area managed by the Command of Naval Region 2.

Polling station No. 2 is located in Phuoc Thang ward (including the Command of Coast Guard Region 3; Fisheries Patrol Detachment No. 2 and the Permanent Militia Squadron under the City Command). The onshore polling station is located at the headquarters of Fisheries Patrol Detachment No. 2; the polling station at sea is in the border areas between Vietnam and Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia (expanded); Vietnam and Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand, and Vietnam and Cambodia.

Polling station number 3 is located in Long Son commune (including the DK1 Battalion, Brigade 125, and the Command of Region 2 of the Navy). Onshore polling stations are located at the Command of Region 2 of the Navy; offshore polling stations are located at 15 DK1 platforms and approximately 14 patrol vessels under the management of Region 2 of the Navy, as well as fishing vessels in the surrounding area (if any).

Polling station number 4 is located in Tam Thang ward (Vietsovpetro Vietnam-Russia joint venture). The onshore polling station is located in the Vung Tau airport area.
