Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has agreed in principle to organize the inspection and assessment of the quality of 186 old apartment buildings (comprising 223 blocks) according to the list proposed by the Department of Construction.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the People's Committees of wards and communes to organize the inspection and assessment of the quality of apartment buildings in accordance with the prescribed inspection procedures; and to submit reports to the Department of Construction for review and issuance of conclusions on the quality inspection of apartment buildings as prescribed.
Local People's Committees that have not yet proposed inspection costs must urgently submit a proposal to the Department of Construction for compilation and forwarding to the Department of Finance for allocation of funds.
The Department of Finance is tasked with allocating funds for the inspection of apartment buildings to the People's Committees of the wards to carry out the inspection work.
The Department of Construction is tasked with guiding local People's Committees on the procedures for conducting inspections according to regulations; receiving inspection reports, reviewing and issuing conclusions on the quality inspection of apartment buildings.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee noted that the inspection report must clearly state the inspection contents as prescribed by the law on construction and must determine whether the inspected apartment building is either not subject to demolition or is subject to demolition.
If the apartment building is not yet subject to demolition, the inspection report must clearly state the period during which it can continue to be used until it is subject to demolition. The Department of Construction will then publicly post the inspection report on its electronic portal.
