Ho Chi Minh City reviews and evaluates its civil servant workforce.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a document conveying the directive of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Van Duoc, on the implementation of Government Decree No. 171/2025/ND-CP regulating the training and professional development of civil servants.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested that specialized agencies, administrative organizations under the city, and the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones review and assess the current state of the civil servant workforce; and at the same time, develop plans and select appropriate training programs to update and enhance knowledge, skills, and professional expertise in areas of state management and other supplementary skills for civil servants. This includes ensuring that civil servants meet the minimum training requirement of one week (40 hours) per year; sending civil servants to training courses to build a high-quality workforce for agencies and units; and prioritizing fields such as science and technology, innovation, digital skills, and digital technology .

The Department of Internal Affairs is tasked with advising the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council a resolution on policies and regulations to encourage civil servants to study, improve their qualifications and work capacity, and attract high-quality human resources for the local government...
