Ho Chi Minh City makes many key personnel changes.

TPO - At a special session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council dismissed two Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and elected two new individuals to fill these positions. In addition, the session also elected the Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, who had recently been transferred and appointed, as a member of the City People's Committee.

On May 19th, at the 15th session (special session) of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 10th term, 2021-2026, personnel matters concerning the leadership of the City People's Committee were addressed.

Accordingly, the session proceeded to elect Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, as Vice Chairpersons of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 10th term, 2021-2026.

As a result, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy were elected as Vice Chairpersons of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee with 100% and 91.76% of the votes, respectively.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai was born in 1967 in Long An province and holds a Master's degree in Law and a Senior Certificate in Political Theory.

During his career, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai served as the Director of the People's Procuracy of Ho Chi Minh City from June 2016 to June 2019.

From July 2019 to June 2020, Mr. Hai served as Deputy Head and then Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Since July 2020, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai has been a member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee. Currently, Mr. Hai is a member of the 15th National Assembly .

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, born in 1977, is from Ho Chi Minh City. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics , a Master's degree in Party Building and State Administration, and a Senior Certificate in Political Theory.

During her career, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy held various positions, including: Secretary of the Tan Phu District Youth Union, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Council, Deputy Secretary of the Go Vap District Party Committee, and Secretary of the Go Vap District Party Committee.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy was appointed President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor from April 2018 to the present. Currently, Ms. Dieu Thuy is also a member of the 15th National Assembly.

On the same day, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen presented the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City Standing Committee to transfer and appoint Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, for the term 2021-2026.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen also presented the decision of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on the transfer and appointment of Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy to participate in and hold the position of Member of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the term 2021 - 2026.

Also at the session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council elected Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs, as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, 10th term, 2021-2026.

Recently, Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 8, was transferred and assigned by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to work at the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to be appointed as Director of the Department of Internal Affairs.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee also appointed Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan to the position of Member of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for the term 2021-2026 and assigned him to the position (concurrently) of Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Department from the time he is appointed as Director of the City's Department of Internal Affairs.

Two Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee dismissed from their positions.

In accordance with the session plan, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council proceeded to dismiss Mr. Duong Anh Duc and Mr. Ngo Minh Chau from their positions as Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, due to their reassignment to other duties.

Accordingly, Mr. Duong Anh Duc has been transferred, assigned, and appointed by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to the position of Secretary of the District 1 Party Committee. Meanwhile, Mr. Ngo Minh Chau has been transferred and assigned by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to the position of Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
