The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment has just issued a plan for planting trees for dispersal purposes in the city in 2026.

Scattered tree planting is a driving force for promoting reforestation, forest protection, environmental protection, and mitigating the harmful effects and impacts of climate change in the area.
Regarding the plan for planting trees in a scattered manner, the city plans to plant 15,000 trees.
The planted tree species include: Lagerstroemia (2,156 trees), Pterocarpus indicus (2,621 trees), Dipterocarpus macrocarpus (1,407 trees), Lagerstroemia indicus (220 trees), Dipterocarpus alatus (1,670 trees), Dalbergia tonkinensis (1,915 trees), Pterocarpus indicus (70 trees), Dalbergia cochinchinensis (2,431 trees), Dalbergia tonkinensis (420 trees), Casuarina equisetifolia (260 trees), Avicennia marina (1,000 trees), Rhizophora apiculata (700 trees), Rhizophora apiculata (20 trees), Tamarindus indicus (20 trees), Delonix regia (20 trees), Dalbergia cochinchinensis (20 trees), Dalbergia tonkinensis (20 trees), Dalbergia cochin ... cochinchinensis (20 trees), Dalbergia cochinchinensis (20 trees), Dalbergia cochinchinensis (20 trees), Dalbergia cochinchinensis (20 trees), Dalbergia
The city also launched a tree-planting festival, planned at the People's Committee of Binh Loi commune, with 350 trees to be planted.
In 2025, according to the overall plan, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to plant nearly 1.7 million scattered trees, with the actual result reaching 1,131,000 trees.
In the Ho Chi Minh City area prior to the merger, the plan was to plant 550,000 trees; however, only about 350 trees have been planted so far, equivalent to 1% of the plan.
At the launch ceremony for the 2025 Tree Planting Festival, the three localities that were previously merged planted nearly 1,000 trees.
