Following the heritage route connecting the ancient town of Hoi An and the My Son temple complex, after crossing the old Cau Lau bridge and heading south for about 300 meters, the paved road named Hoang Dieu runs along the fields. Continuing about 4 kilometers west, you will reach the Au Lac cultural tourism site.

Spanning nearly 17,000 square meters, the Au Lac cultural tourism site embodies the cultural and historical values of the Go Noi region through its collection of wood carvings. Adjacent to this, an ecological space, a rural village, and traditional craft villages offer a delightful, peaceful, and relaxing experience.

For about three hours, visitors will experience the wood carving process under the guidance of Au Lac artisans. Currently on display are three unique sets of Au Lac wood carving art: "Thu River and Ngoc Mountain," "Sacred Soul of the River and Mountains," and "God of Agriculture," helping viewers better understand the history and culture of Quang Nam province and the Vietnamese people. And when enjoying the "God of Agriculture" meal, featuring specialties from the Thu River delta region, it conveys a message promoting green agriculture and a green lifestyle in harmony with nature.

Mr. Tran Thu – Director of Au Lac Artistic Woodworking Co., Ltd. (the unit managing the Au Lac cultural tourism site) said that, in addition to promoting and introducing the finest aspects of local wood carving, the idea of building the Au Lac cultural tourism site also aims to preserve and develop national cultural values. “Initially, there may be difficulties, but if we want to nurture traditional crafts, tourism is essential to help these crafts survive,” Mr. Thu shared.

Dien Phong and Go Noi are areas with great potential and room for developing ecotourism and traditional craft villages. The Au Lac cultural tourism destination is considered an interesting connection, contributing to providing more options for tourists on their journey to explore the countryside and traditional craft villages of Quang Nam province.

Although it only opened at the end of 2023, several travel agencies have already begun to show interest and explore bringing tourists to visit this place. The opportunities are even greater as the Au Lac Cultural Tourism Site is located less than 20km from Hoi An City, promising to become an attractive destination outside of the heritage site in the near future...
