Thanks to the propaganda and mobilization efforts of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the people of Phu Thanh village unanimously agreed to donate land and assets on the land to expand the road from 3.2m to 6m.
Visiting Minh Loc commune these days, one can clearly see the changes. Every road leading into the residential areas has been paved with concrete, flowerbeds bloom on both sides, and sturdy houses stand amidst model gardens meticulously maintained by the residents themselves. This is the "sweet fruit" of the high determination of the entire political system and the people, in which the Fatherland Front plays a crucial role.
Chairman of the Minh Loc Commune Fatherland Front Committee, Le Xuan Luu, said: The Commune Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations have coordinated well in disseminating information about the New Rural Development program through various diverse and rich forms, such as through community meetings, group activities, and public address systems. The content is concise, easy to understand, and attracts the participation of a large number of people. Throughout the implementation process, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee has guided its member organizations in carrying out the New Rural Development tasks through concrete actions such as expanding rural roads, planting flowers and ornamental trees along the roadsides, creating a bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscape.
In addition, efforts are being intensified to encourage people to donate land, contribute labor, and provide construction materials for rural road construction, cultural centers, essential infrastructure serving daily life and production, and street lighting. Specifically, in implementing Directive No. 25-CT/HU of the Standing Committee of the Hau Loc District Party Committee on the campaign for people to donate land for investment in the renovation, upgrading, and beautification of infrastructure, focusing on roads in rural and urban areas of the district in a synchronized and modern direction, the Minh Loc Commune Party Committee has issued Resolution No. 23-NQ/DU on the campaign for people to donate land for investment in the renovation, upgrading, and beautification of infrastructure, focusing on roads in rural areas of the commune for the periods 2024-2025 and 2026-2030.
Phu Thanh village is a shining example of the movement to donate land for road expansion. Pham Thi Giang, Party branch secretary and head of the village's Fatherland Front Committee, shared: "To gain the trust and support of the people, cadres and Party members must set a good example and take the lead in all tasks, from contributing money to donating land for road construction... Therefore, when implementing the project, the people actively responded. To expand the road, which is over 900m long and 3.2m wide, to 6.5m wide, through the propaganda of Fatherland Front officials, households in the village donated nearly 1,300m2 of land and demolished gates and fences... With the consensus of 84 households, in a short time, the road has been basically completed with asphalt paving and drainage system construction. The contractor is currently completing the installation of high-voltage power lines and rebuilding gates and fences for the households."
By June 2025, after more than a year of implementing Resolution No. 23-NQ/DU, 238 households in Minh Loc commune had voluntarily donated nearly 3,900 square meters of residential land and nearly 3,600 square meters of agricultural land; 148 households moved back 257 meters of fences; nearly 8.6 kilometers of drainage ditches were built in residential areas; nearly 7.2 kilometers of street lighting and 65 cameras were installed... with a total value of approximately over 31 billion VND. Thanks to this land donation, many roads have been widened and newly constructed, facilitating trade and promoting the process of building new rural areas.
In implementing Directive No. 22-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on the campaign to support housing construction for poor households, policy beneficiary households, and households still facing housing difficulties in the province during the two years 2024-2025, the Fatherland Front of the commune has propagated and mobilized officials, civil servants, employees, philanthropists, businesses, and people in the area to support two poor households in building new houses.
According to the Chairman of the Minh Loc Commune People's Committee, Doan Van Nga, "The Fatherland Front and its member organizations have profoundly demonstrated their role in representing the will and aspirations of the people through monitoring activities related to the implementation of the New Rural Development program. Through organizing surveys to gauge people's satisfaction, positive changes have been made in awareness, enhancing a sense of responsibility and the role of the people as key stakeholders in participating in the New Rural Development program; movements and models have also been widely implemented and have created a strong ripple effect, contributing to 4 out of 8 villages achieving the status of model new rural villages, and Minh Loc basically completing the criteria for an advanced new rural commune."
