According to folk legend, in Cam Truong region at that time, there was a very ferocious elephant that occasionally came back to destroy crops, making everyone afraid. To eliminate the danger to the people, Ba Trieu invited her friends to surround and capture that ferocious elephant. She drove the elephant into the swamp, then bravely jumped on its head, then patiently tried to subdue it. The notoriously ferocious elephant finally had to obey, later became her very close and loyal fighting friend and together with her created many terrifying moments for the Ngo invaders. Ba Trieu is a national hero with bravery, generosity, good martial arts, and great ambition. People believe that Ba Trieu's paintings have the effect of warding off evil spirits, bringing vitality and fortune to the owner.
