Tan Thanh commune has a strong potential in forestry with approximately 5,000 hectares of eucalyptus trees. Thanks to effective vocational training and guidance on cultivation techniques, many households have shifted from traditional production to applying science and technology, significantly improving productivity.
Ms. Tran Thi Hong, a member of the Farmers' Association in Trai Da village, Tan Thanh commune, shared: "Previously, due to a lack of technical knowledge, my family's eucalyptus plantation of over 6 hectares was frequently affected by pests and diseases, resulting in stunted growth. After participating in a vocational training course organized by the commune's Farmers' Association, I learned how to prune, fertilize, and control pests and diseases according to the correct schedule. Thanks to this, in 2025, the trees will be ready for harvesting, bringing in an income of over 300 million VND after deducting expenses. Currently, my family continues to care for the new crop using the correct techniques so that the trees develop well and can be harvested again in the next cycle."
Ms. Hong is just one of many members of the Farmers' Association who have received vocational training, counseling, and guidance to develop their family's economy effectively. Mr. Trieu Quang Huy, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, stated: The association at all levels has identified vocational training and career guidance for its members as a key task. Vocational training classes are organized to meet actual needs, suit the production conditions of each locality, and focus on areas of strength.
Previously, vocational training mainly focused on instruction and workshops. However, in the last three years, associations at all levels have shifted to a "hands-on" approach, linking theory with practice. As a result, knowledge is transformed into skills, reducing the problem of learning without practical application and gradually fostering a systematic production mindset, improving the efficiency and sustainability of livelihoods.
Simultaneously, the establishment of cooperative groups and cooperatives is also emphasized. By 2025, the association will guide the establishment of 15 new agricultural cooperatives and 30 agricultural cooperative groups. Notably, these cooperative groups and cooperatives regularly exchange and share experiences, provide technical support, and link product consumption, thereby improving production organization capacity, increasing value, and enhancing competitiveness in the market. In addition, the Farmers' Association at all levels focuses on organizing field trips for members to learn from experience after vocational training, considering this a crucial step in connecting theory with practice.
Mr. Duong Van Dac, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Vu commune and Chairman of the Farmers' Association of the commune, said: Every year, the association proactively coordinates the opening of vocational training classes that meet the needs and are linked to the local production strengths, and organizes visits for members to learn from effective economic models to improve practical skills. From 2024 to the present, the association has coordinated the organization of 6 vocational training classes on mushroom cultivation, bag making, pig farming, etc., for nearly 100 members of the Farmers' Association.
Thanks to the attention and active involvement of all levels of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, the number of members receiving vocational training has steadily increased year by year. In 2025 alone, the associations coordinated the organization of nearly 100 vocational training classes with over 3,600 members participating, an increase of more than 520 members compared to 2024 and achieving 100% of the planned target. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the associations have coordinated the organization of 3 vocational training classes with nearly 80 members participating.
The coordinated vocational training activities of the Farmers' Association at all levels throughout the province have helped farmers gain more experience and scientific and technical knowledge to apply to production, contributing to increased income, improved living standards, and a steadily increasing percentage of households excelling in production and business over the years. Currently, the province has 13,213 households achieving the title of excellent producers and business owners at various levels, an increase of 3,190 households compared to 2021.
