Visiting Am Chua Festival

Every year, in the first days of the third lunar month, locals, pilgrims, and tourists from all over the province and beyond gather at the Am Chua National Historical Site (Dien Dien commune, Dien Khanh district) to attend the Am Chua Festival. Each person attending the festival expresses their reverence for the Holy Mother Thien YA Na and prays for good fortune for themselves, their families, and their communities. They bring simple offerings – products, agricultural produce, and fruits grown and produced by the local people – to present to the Mother.

Having the opportunity to attend the Am Chua festival, witnessing the meticulous preparation of offerings by locals and pilgrims from all over, and especially the sincere devotion towards the Holy Mother YA Na, we gain a deeper understanding of the profound faith and gratitude we have for the Mother of the Land. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Huong, Vice Chairman of the Dien Khanh District People's Committee, this is the 38th year since the Am Chua festival was restored and the 26th year since the Am Chua site was classified as a national historical site by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Each year, thanks to the contributions of the people and the support of various levels and sectors, the national historical site of Am Chua has been restored, renovated, and protected; the festival increasingly attracts the attention of locals, pilgrims, and tourists from within and outside the province.
