Cam Muong Festival, also known as Tet Cung Ban, is a traditional festival of the Lu ethnic group ( Lai Chau province) at the beginning of the new year. The festival is held from the beginning of January to the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month every year.
Lai Chau province currently has 20 ethnic groups living together, of which the Lu ethnic group lives mainly in Sin Ho and Tam Duong districts. The spiritual and cultural capital of the Lu ethnic group is very rich and diverse, still retaining its own cultural features, imbued with national identity, the most unique and typical of which is the Cam Muong Festival. We invite you to join author Trinh Thong Thien in celebrating Tet with Lu ethnic children through the work series "Lu ethnic children playing Cam Muong Tet". During the three days of Tet, the Lu village prohibits outsiders from entering so that the community can organize religious activities and traditional entertainment activities of their people.

Cam Muong Festival is an occasion for villagers to offer sacrifices and pray to the river god, mountain god, stream god, spring god and dragon god to bless the villagers with prosperity, good things to stay, bad things to go away.
The Cam Muong Festival has religious significance, so the villagers perform it very solemnly and respectfully. Before it takes place, families must do all the farming and swiddening work.
During the festival days, people just rest and go out, they don't have to work. At the same time, families are forbidden to buy things from outside to bring home, so they have to prepare food and drink for the festival days./.
