There are many reasons that lead to marital breakdown.
According to statistics from relevant authorities, from March 2025 to May 2026, there were 34 divorce cases in Da Bac commune, of which 23 involved parties under 35 years old, with the youngest being only 20 years old.

The People's Procuracy of Region 14 exchanged professional expertise on supervising judicial activities in resolving disputes related to marriage and family.
Through field research in Da Bac commune, the causes of divorce are quite diverse. Besides economic difficulties and the pressures of making a living, many young couples lack interpersonal skills and mutual understanding. The impact of social media, individual lifestyles, and prolonged periods of working far from home also exacerbate conflicts in married life.
Notably, many couples marry at a young age, lacking a full understanding of family responsibilities. When difficulties arise in life, instead of working together to resolve them, many couples choose divorce as a quick solution.
The case of Ms. Ban Thi M. (born in 1997) and Mr. Xa Van Q. (born in 1996) in Tay Mang hamlet is an example. Married in 2018 and with two young children, their family life has been constantly difficult due to unstable income. Both husband and wife are self-employed and frequently work far from home. After marriage, the couple experienced many conflicts, arguments, and physical abuse, resulting in an unhappy marriage. They have been separated since 2023, with no remaining marital or family ties and no common ground. Therefore, Ms. M. has filed for divorce and requested custody of the two children. The case is currently being handled by the court.
According to the assessment of the People's Procuratorate of Region 14, the case of Ms. Ban Thi M. is not unique. In recent years, the majority of divorce cases have occurred in the age group from 18 to under 35. Economic difficulties, unstable employment, and financial pressures are common causes of marital breakdown.
Divorce not only shatters family happiness but also leaves many negative consequences for children. The lack of adequate care and attention from both parents can affect the formation of a child's personality, psychology, and overall development. In the long term, the increasing divorce rate also impacts traditional moral values and family and community cohesion.
Proactive prevention at the grassroots level.
In response to this situation, Da Bac commune has intensified the dissemination of information on the Law on Marriage and Family and the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; integrating the content of building happy families into community meetings, activities of women's associations, youth unions, and grassroots mediation groups.

Women in Da Bac commune are stepping up their efforts to disseminate information about the Marriage and Family Law during branch meetings.
Mediation teams play a crucial role in understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people, promptly resolving newly arising conflicts, and limiting the number of cases that need to be brought to court. Many couples, after being persuaded and counseled, have reconciled and continued to live together stably.
Comrade Lu Thi Loan, Deputy Director of the People's Procuracy of Region 14, stated: "To reduce the divorce rate, a coordinated effort from the entire political system is needed. Besides legal awareness campaigns, it is necessary to improve the effectiveness of mediation at the grassroots level; strengthen life skills education and family-building skills training for young people before marriage; and promote the role of families, clans, and communities in preserving family happiness."
In reality, family happiness is not only built on economic conditions but also requires sharing, respect, and responsibility from each member. Each preserved marriage not only brings happiness to the couples but also contributes to building stable families, creating a foundation for the stable development of the locality.
Preventing the increase in divorce rates and the younger age of divorce is therefore not only the responsibility of the authorities but also requires the joint efforts of the entire society. When each family truly becomes a warm home, a place that nurtures love and responsibility, the negative consequences of divorce will gradually be mitigated, contributing to building a united, civilized, and sustainably developing community.
