Hanoi, like many other cities in the country, is becoming more and more modern. However, hidden behind the high-rise buildings, there are still bicycles weaving through the modern means of transport. Most of the people riding these old bicycles carry goods to make a living.

All of these seemingly simple and small jobs make a living on the bustling streets of a city like Hanoi that is changing. And the women cycling on the streets carry with them the fates of a person, even a family, that may be shifting. The images below capture the “small jobs” on old bicycles…
