Hanoi, like many other cities across the country, is becoming increasingly modern. However, hidden behind the skyscrapers, bicycles still weave their way through the modern traffic. Most of the people riding these old bicycles carry goods to earn a living.

These seemingly simple and insignificant livelihoods take place on the bustling streets of a rapidly changing city like Hanoi. And the women cycling the streets carry the fates of individuals, even families, that may also be undergoing transformation. The images below capture these "menial jobs" on old bicycles…
