Immediately deploy measles vaccination in 54 provinces and cities

On the afternoon of March 20, the Ministry of Health informed about the second measles vaccination plan in 2025.

According to the Ministry of Health , implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-TTg dated March 15 on strengthening measles prevention and control and to continue proactively implementing measles vaccination measures, the Ministry of Health has issued a plan for the second measles vaccination in 2025 in 54 provinces and cities and directed the organization of catch-up vaccination for children who have not received enough measles vaccine doses.

Fully vaccinate children against measles to prevent measles epidemics

Vaccination subjects include: children from 6 months to under 9 months old will be vaccinated with 1 dose of measles vaccine; children 6-10 years old who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated with measles-containing vaccine will each be vaccinated with 1 dose of measles-containing vaccine; children 1-5 years old who have not been fully vaccinated with measles-containing vaccine will be vaccinated with a catch-up dose (using measles-containing vaccine in the expanded immunization program according to the expanded immunization plan in 2025).

To ensure sufficient measles vaccine for localities, the Ministry of Health has mobilized and received an additional 500,000 doses of measles vaccine sponsored by the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company. The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has allocated all of these measles vaccines to localities across the country.

At the same time, the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has also allocated vaccines in the expanded immunization program to vaccinate children aged 1-5 who have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine. The Ministry of Health also directed localities to urgently deploy and ensure the completion of measles vaccination by March 31 at the latest.
