Báo Lâm ĐồngBáo Lâm Đồng14/06/2023

(LĐ online) - In response to the 2023 World Environment Action Month with the theme "Solutions for Plastic Pollution," focusing on the "Anti-Plastic Pollution" campaign, an art exhibition titled "Plastic" was held at the Pho Ben Doi art space (10 Ly Tu Trong Street, Ward 2, Da Lat).

The artwork
The artwork "Footprints of Carbon" by Yen Nhi and Ai Thuong.

The exhibition, organized by Art Company Seven, showcased works by 10 young visual artists crafted and recreated from plastic waste.

Under the skillful hands and creative minds of the artists, plastic bottles, cardboard, and waste materials have been transformed into unique works of art, depicting food and beautiful nature while conveying profound ideas.

Each artwork powerfully conveys a message against plastic waste, promoting a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature; controlling and addressing plastic waste pollution; forming habits of saying no to plastic waste, no to non-biodegradable plastic bags, no to single-use plastic products; using environmentally friendly products; striving for a greener, cleaner lifestyle; increasing recycling and reuse; and working towards a green and sustainable environment.

Notable examples include: "Plastic Shrimp," which conveys the idea: How many shrimp and fish will remain in the ocean when 1.5 million animals die each year due to plastic waste?; "Microscope" - The second eye observing microorganisms hidden in water polluted by waste; "Carbon Footprint" - Looking back at the footprints that humans have left on the blue ocean (Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi, Nguyen Thi Ai Thuong); "Whales" - No matter how healthy they are, they are still victims who die "at the hands" of humans; "Plastic Robots" - The only animal species unaffected by environmental pollution (Nguyen Le Hoang Minh); "Reborn Turtles" - White pollution can devour the lives of thousands of marine creatures (Huynh Quang Khai), including turtles; "Escaping the Plastic World" - The cries of animals before humanity's indifferent lifestyle towards nature (Aung Pyae Khant). "Flowers recycled from plastic bottles" - If we don't protect nature from the smallest things, in the future even flowers won't be able to grow (Vietnamese Flower Soul).

The exhibition runs from now until July 8, 2023.
