It's clear that short films are entering their most vibrant period of development ever. The changing viewing habits of audiences, especially young people, with a preference for concise, emotionally rich films with a strong focus, have created favorable conditions for short films to assert their position. Many competitions are also becoming more open to short films, allowing for the use of AI support and leveraging online platforms. This provides young filmmakers with more opportunities, such as lower costs, easier promotion, and a stepping stone towards more professional film projects.
The flourishing of short films demonstrates the vitality of young Vietnamese cinema. With more support mechanisms, creative platforms, and technological advancements, short films have become a distinct genre, enriching contemporary cinematic life.
