The statement was North Korea's first response to the summit between the United States and South Korea, and suggests Pyongyang could continue to step up its weapons tests.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is on a state visit to Washington and met with US President Joe Biden this week.
The United States has pledged to provide South Korea with more detailed information about its nuclear plans for any conflict with North Korea amid growing regional tensions.
A US Navy nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) will visit South Korea soon – the first time since 1980. This demonstrates the US commitment to its alliance with South Korea.
