Although the whole country has entered the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, many patients at medical facilities are unable to recover in time to return home to their families. At the Intensive Care Unit of the Provincial General Hospital, there are currently nearly 40 patients remaining for treatment. According to Dr. Bui Van Thien, Deputy Head of the Intensive Care Unit at the Provincial General Hospital, all patients admitted to the unit are in critical condition, meaning they almost never recover in time to return home for Tet (Lunar New Year). Therefore, the staff and doctors in the unit maintain constant vigilance to provide thorough care and treatment for the patients. In the hospital wards, the sounds of ventilators continued to echo steadily... Every breath the patient takes is closely monitored by the doctors and nurses.
Because in the Intensive Care Unit, even a moment of inattention can cause a patient to become critically ill at any time. Therefore, even though the Tet holiday atmosphere has permeated the streets, in the Intensive Care Unit, doctors and nurses are still working tirelessly, striving to care for and save the lives of each patient. At the Emergency and Toxicology Department, patients continue to be admitted for emergency care and treatment.
As the department responsible for admitting, providing emergency care, and initial treatment, the patients here are very diverse in terms of their illnesses. Especially during the Lunar New Year holiday, an increase in cases of injuries, traffic accidents, food poisoning, and acute illnesses is anticipated. With dozens of emergency cases being treated each day, doctors and nurses need to maintain a high level of concentration and precision in every step to provide timely emergency care for patients. For the doctors and nurses here, the greatest reward is not New Year's greetings or moments of rest, but the ability to save patients' lives and preserve a complete spring season for each family.
