Ms. Do Kim Dinh, from Coi 6B hamlet, Da Bac commune, said: "With an area of 2,000 square meters, I planted one crop of perilla, one crop of corn, and one crop of cabbage, earning about 200 million VND; of which, the cabbage crop alone, grown for the Tet market, yielded over 6,000 plants, bringing in about 50 million VND."
Ms. Do Kim Dinh earned approximately 50 million VND from her Tet cabbage crop.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, from Coi 6B hamlet, Da Bac commune, reported: "Besides cultivating 10 acres of rice in two seasons, earning about 40-50 million VND, my family also grows about 1 acre of vegetables, including chives and cabbage, producing 2-3 crops per year, bringing in an income of 60-70 million VND, of which the income from cabbage grown for Tet (Lunar New Year) is over 30 million VND."
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa harvested his cabbages and expects to earn over 30 million VND from selling them.
The bumper cabbage harvest has contributed to improving the income of many households, creating more motivation for people to continue to stick with this crop farming model. Trucks loaded with cabbage leaving the fields not only carry the fruits of their labor, but also embody the hope for a prosperous harvest.
