The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has issued a document regarding the verification of the high school equivalency diploma of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (also known as Venerable Thich Chan Quang).

In the document, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training confirmed that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet, born in 1959, was not listed in the list of candidates and the list of names and scores in the 1989 high school supplementary education graduation exam of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training; nor was he listed in the list of recipients of high school supplementary education diplomas for the course held on June 6, 1989, by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
In a statement to the press regarding the above information, a representative from Hanoi Law University said they were aware of the document from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
Typically, if a high school diploma is found to be fake, the higher education institution will follow the procedures stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the management of diplomas and certificates.
In the case of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet, the school will follow the procedures stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training once it receives official documentation from the management agency.
According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral level admissions and training, students who commit fraud in preparing their application documents to obtain diplomas or certificates (using forged documents) will be expelled. Any diplomas already issued will be revoked and canceled according to regulations.
