On December 30th, in Hanoi, Mr. Do Van Chien, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Party Group, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, chaired a conference to announce decisions on the organizational structure and personnel of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in accordance with Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW.

Also attending were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Accordingly, on December 29, 2024, on behalf of the Central Executive Committee, Standing Committee Secretary Tran Cam Tu signed Decision No. 217-QD/TW on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
This decision replaces Decision No. 120-QD/TW, dated September 6, 2023, of the Politburo of the 13th Party Congress on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and takes effect from the date of signing.
The Decision states: The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has the function of advising and assisting the Committee, the Presidium, and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in implementing the provisions of the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and relevant regulations of the Party and the State; it is also the specialized professional agency for Fatherland Front work.
In terms of organizational structure, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front consists of: the Chairman and full-time Vice-Chairmen. The Vice-Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is assigned as the Head of the Agency.
In terms of organizational structure, the specialized departments and units include: the Organization and Personnel Department; the Democracy, Supervision and Social Criticism Department; the Propaganda Department; the Social Mobilization Department; the Ethnic Minorities, Religion and Overseas Vietnamese Department; and the Agency Office.
Public service unit: Dai Doan Ket Newspaper.
Organization supporting religious activities: Office of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee.
The Standing Committee establishes advisory councils and implements a system of experts, seconded staff, and collaborators to serve the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.


Based on the organizational structure outlined in Decision No. 217-QD/TW, Mr. Do Van Chien, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, presented the Decisions appointing the Heads of Departments and units to the newly appointed comrades. The appointment period is 5 years, effective from January 1, 2025.
Accordingly, Comrade Nong Thi Mai Huyen, Chief of the Office of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has been transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Organization and Personnel Department.
Comrade Cao Xuan Thao, Head of the Movement Department, has been appointed to the position of Head of the Social Mobilization Department (under the new name).
Comrade Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of the Organization and Personnel Department, has been transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Department for Ethnic Minorities, Religion and Overseas Vietnamese.
Comrade Vu Thanh Nam, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnamese Catholic Newspaper, has been transferred and appointed to the position of Chief of the Office of the Committee for Catholic Solidarity of Vietnam.
Comrade Truong Thanh Trung, Editor-in-Chief of the Front Magazine, has been transferred and appointed to the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Great Unity Newspaper.

Presenting the decisions on personnel matters according to the new organizational structure, Chairman Do Van Chien expressed his hope that each comrade would uphold their spirit and responsibility to work together with the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to review, amend, and supplement the working regulations according to Decision 217 of the Politburo, in order to further promote a higher level of solidarity and unity, and to implement work faster and more effectively to fulfill assigned tasks.
