Games of football similar to modern football have been played in many different cultures around the world since ancient times. One of the oldest known games of football is cuju, a game played in China during the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD). In cuju, two teams play against each other, each with 16 players. The goal of the game is to score goals by kicking the ball with the feet or head.

Volleyball

One of the oldest known volleyball games is tlachtli, a game played by the Aztecs in Mexico from the 14th century. Invented by William G. Morgan, a physical education teacher in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA, in 1895, Morgan created a new game to help his students stay warm during the winter. These rules included rules about court size, ball size, the number of players per team, and scoring.
