Traditional Medicine Hospital nurses take care of patients.

One of the bright spots in the nursing work of the Lao Cai Health sector is the Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital - a unit that has achieved high results in patient satisfaction surveys for many years. The dedication, sense of responsibility and efforts to overcome difficulties of the nursing team of the Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital have been and are making an important contribution to helping the hospital become one of the addresses for examination and treatment using traditional medicine that people trust.

After 6 days of treatment for vestibular disorders, patient Tran Thi Tham, Dong Cuong commune, Lao Cai province, has reduced symptoms of headache, dizziness, and fatigue. Sharing her feelings when being treated here, Ms. Tham emotionally said: "A friend introduced me to the Traditional Medicine Hospital for treatment. During the treatment process, I was very satisfied with the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of the team of doctors and nurses."

The sincere thanks of the patients are the clearest evidence of the trust and attachment between the patients and the nursing team. Ms. Pham Thanh Hoa - nurse of the Rehabilitation Department shared: In addition to professional work, we also provide comprehensive care for the patients both physically and mentally to achieve the best treatment results.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Song Huong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital said: The hospital's nursing staff is still small compared to the general regulations of the industry, but we are always making constant efforts to improve the quality of human resources. The hospital has promoted on-site training, training in shifts and sent staff for long-term study in specialized fields, aiming to build a nursing team with both solid skills and dedication to the profession.

Currently, the province has 3,212 nursing, midwifery and medical technicians, including 2,191 nurses, 573 midwives and 448 technicians. The nurse/doctor ratio in the medical examination and treatment sector is 1.8 nurses/doctor, of which 13 units have a ratio of 2 nurses/doctor.

Over the past time, nursing councils have been established in 100% of hospitals, with clear operating regulations and specific tasks assigned to each member. Units regularly organize meetings, professional activities, and patient councils; review, update, and promulgate nursing procedures and health communication and education documents appropriate to the actual situation, contributing to improving the quality of patient care.

Comprehensive care activities are implemented synchronously at all medical examination and treatment facilities, especially for level I patients in key departments such as: emergency resuscitation, intensive care and obstetrics.

100% of patients coming for examination and treatment are guided and have their health care knowledge improved through many forms, such as: direct consultation, group consultation at patient council meetings, and through communication corners in the department.

Along with that, communication and medical ethics are always given attention, helping the nursing team become more professional, dedicated and close to patients.
