"Determined to fight, determined to win, for the peaceful and happy life of the people," that is the motto and guiding principle of action of Major Hoang Minh Huan, an officer of the Firefighting and Rescue Team, Area 3 (responsible for the communes of the former Dinh Lap and Loc Binh districts), under the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Provincial Police.
Major Hoang Minh Huan shared: “When carrying out firefighting and rescue missions, I feel like I have a command from my heart. With the highest spirit and determination, I am ready to face all challenges, difficulties, hardships, and dangers to successfully complete the assigned tasks, for the peaceful and happy lives of the people.”
With that spirit and motto, during his 12 years of service (from 2013 to the present), he has directly participated in extinguishing 8 forest fires, 4 car fires, 14 house fires, and 3 factory fires, along with many other minor fire incidents. In addition, he has also participated in rescue operations and flood and storm prevention.
With 24 years of service in the Firefighting and Rescue Force, Lieutenant Colonel Chu Duc Kien, Deputy Team Leader of the Firefighting and Rescue Team, Firefighting and Rescue Police Department, Provincial Police, has participated in numerous firefighting operations. Lieutenant Colonel Chu Duc Kien shared: "In the last 5 years, my teammates and I have participated in over 100 firefighting incidents. My teammates and I are always proud to wear the firefighter's uniform. No matter what happens, we always keep in mind that when performing our duties, there is no fear or hesitation, and we always remind ourselves, 'Saving the lives and property of the people is paramount.'"
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police currently has many specialized teams, including 5 teams directly involved in firefighting and rescue operations, with a total of over 100 officers and soldiers. Currently, these specialized teams are assigned specific areas of responsibility, ensuring that 100% of the province has firefighting forces available to carry out their duties as quickly as possible when a fire or explosion occurs.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Huy Khanh, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police, said: To improve the quality and combat effectiveness of officers and soldiers, the unit has always focused on political and ideological education, organizing training, and strengthening the physical fitness and willpower of its officers and soldiers. The unit also regularly organizes training to improve officers and soldiers' knowledge and professional skills, equipping them with full personal protective equipment; maintaining a 24/7 readiness to respond quickly and promptly in case of fires, explosions, incidents, or accidents... In firefighting and rescue operations, officers and soldiers in the unit always demonstrate resourcefulness, courage, and a willingness to face danger and difficulties, striving their best for the safety of the people.
According to statistics, in the last 5 years, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police has mobilized thousands of officers and soldiers, along with numerous vehicles and equipment, to fight fires, totaling nearly 150 fires and 50 fire incidents. During the battle against the "fire enemy," firefighters face many difficulties and dangers; not only the danger from the flames, the pressure from the smoke, and the toxic gases in the fire, but also the possibility of the burning houses and factories collapsing at any moment. Each fire is a "battle" with a completely different "scenario," requiring ingenuity, courage, and creativity from the commanders and officers, because even a slight oversight could turn the officers involved in firefighting and rescue into victims...
With their skillful and flexible approach, and close coordination, the firefighters of the Provincial Police have overcome all obstacles, successfully controlling fires, rescuing people and property, and ensuring the safety of their own force. For them, the greatest joy is the peace in every home, street corner, and village, and the happiness of the people.
