We must steadfastly uphold Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought not by rote memorization of every word, like unchanging dogmas, but by extracting the "living soul" of the theory to address the challenges and opportunities for Vietnam's development in the 21st century. Renewing ideological work at this time means forming a modern Vietnamese development theory that is independent, creative, lawful, and in line with the people's will, a synthesis of the best of humanity and national cultural identity on the socialist path.
In this age of information explosion, where truth and falsehood are sometimes separated by just a touch of a screen, ideological work that remains characterized by "monologue," bureaucracy, or rigid dogmatism will inadvertently isolate itself from life. It should shift from "monologue" to "persuasion and inspiration"; dialogue must be strengthened; and social consensus should be the measure of development.
Ideology is only strong when ideological work translates those decisions into reality, when every citizen, whether at home or abroad, sees their own image, the interests of their family, and the future of their children reflected in the nation's destiny. On the other hand, ideology cannot be separated from organization. An advanced ideology cannot operate within a cumbersome and overlapping apparatus. Renewing ideological work in the new era must lead the revolution in organization and personnel.
The mindset of daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility must be protected by specific legal mechanisms and transparent ethics. Ideological work must break down the mentality of fearing mistakes and fearing responsibility. Only when thinking is liberated can creativity be unleashed.
The new era is not just a race for GDP or technology, but also a fierce competition for soft power and national values. Protecting the Party's ideological foundation now means not only refuting erroneous viewpoints in the media, but more importantly, building a spiritual immunity within each Party member, official, and the entire population.
A nation with a solid ideological foundation is one that is not culturally assimilated and whose beliefs are not shaken by the turbulent waves of the times. Ideological renewal must be linked to cultural revitalization, ensuring that revolutionary ethics are intertwined with national morality and deeply ingrained in social life; so that integrity, self-respect, and a spirit of service become the natural way of life for cadres, Party members, and the people.
The new era demands a spirit of self-reliance, self-strength, national pride, and national strategic autonomy at the highest level. Ideological work must awaken national pride, transforming patriotism into material strength to achieve the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045. Renewing ideological work requires the courage to abandon outdated thinking and bureaucratic habits in order to reach the heights of intellect and humanism.
The ultimate goal of ideological work is to foster national unity, under the banner of the Party, and to resolutely build a strong Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading powers, as envisioned by President Ho Chi Minh.
