Give love
Traveling along the streets of Hue city with members of the Volunteer Team (DTN) to give gifts to housewives and grandmothers in difficult circumstances during the holidays, they realized that their work was meaningful. That is just one of dozens of meaningful activities that the members of DT have carried out in recent times.
Three times a week, some TN members assign each other to disadvantaged and weak children at Nguyen Trai, Ngo Kha, and Quang Trung primary schools to tutor and teach them more knowledge of math and Vietnamese.
Ha Van Thai Khang, a student of grade 3.1 (Ngo Kha Primary School) shared: With extra tutoring after school, I firmly grasped the knowledge.
Always present regularly in tutoring sessions for primary school students, Tran Thi Thanh Van, 2nd year student, Faculty of Literature, University of Education shared: Most of the weak students have very difficult family circumstances, so when schools cooperate to help tutors, they go to school very diligently, listen and study hard. Most of the students have made remarkable progress in their studies.
The meaningful gifts and musical performances of the team members brought to the children of the Kindergarten in Huong Son commune, Nam Dong district in the program "Winter warm clothes" bring warmth and love to the children in the highlands on the occasion of the end of 2022.
With a large number of members, but with professional activities, the members are divided into 8 small groups, each group has a leader for easy management and connection. All activities are planned in detail in terms of tasks and time for members to choose and register to participate in accordance with their study time budget. It is also important to help members actively volunteer and still achieve high results in their studies.
Duong Thi Ha Giang, Team Leader of DT shared: All members share the same passion for volunteering. Where we go can be remote areas or the people we come into contact with are the poor, the sick, the people with difficult circumstances. We operate on the funds of all contributing members and carry out fundraising programs such as selling holiday flowers, selling water, selling snacks, etc. All revenue and expenditure of the team are transparent and clearly monitored, so members always actively contribute and arrange time to participate in fundraising activities.
With youthful enthusiasm
As a member who is always active in charity events, Le Nguyen Minh Nguyen confided: Doing charity work without remuneration, members have to pay out of pocket to contribute to the group's activities. Many gift-giving trips in remote areas take a lot of time to prepare and move, but when members register to participate, they all arrange time and study to work regularly with the group.
Seeing young students busy, carefully preparing and packing gifts of candies and toys for children at Tam Binh Shelter (Thuy Xuan, Hue City) on the occasion of International Children's Day, I felt the children's enthusiasm and heart for volunteer work.
For the team members participating in volunteer activities: "Living is giving, not just receiving", so each person tries their best to bring faith in life to difficult and unhappy situations in life. Whether the charity site is far or near, the work is more or less, each young person who has registered to participate always actively participates in all the work, fully present in the activities. Each volunteer trip organized by the team usually has 20-70 members participating.
Thanks to volunteer trips, many students have experienced new lands, new things, shared joys and sorrows with new people meeting for the first time to practice communication skills and life skills.
Teacher Hoang Phi Hai, Secretary of the Union of Pedagogical University said: Although the number of TN members is quite large, they always operate in accordance with regulations, have specific and detailed plans. Not only actively participate in volunteer activities, each program they organize has practical and meaningful effects for the community, but team members also connect and help each other in learning...
