Nurturing "red seeds" at the 168th Artillery Brigade

Amidst the sweltering early summer sun, on the training grounds of the midland region of Phu Tho, each cannon of the 168th Artillery Brigade, Military Region 2, proudly raises its barrel in response to the commands of the training officer. Interspersed with the beads of sweat on the shoulders of the young soldiers are the images of outstanding officers and members of the unit competing in all tasks. These are the "red seeds" being nurtured by the unit, creating a source for Party development.

From the training ground to team spirit and trust.

Late in the afternoon, after AK rifle shooting training, in the agricultural area of ​​Platoon 2, Company 3, Battalion 1, 168th Artillery Brigade, Sergeant Le Ngoc Hoang diligently tended to the vegetable beds with his comrades. With his agile physique, tanned face, and gentle smile, Hoang was well-liked by his platoon members for his sense of responsibility, exemplary conduct, and the energetic spirit of a platoon leader.

As the leader in his squad, Le Ngoc Hoang always determined that he had to be at the forefront of every task. Graduating from the Information Technology department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2024, Le Ngoc Hoang possesses a solid knowledge base and quickly absorbs training content. Even in difficult areas, such as troubleshooting common AK submachine gun malfunctions, drill movements, or physical training, Hoang patiently mentors and helps his teammates improve.

Private Bui Hung Dung, a soldier in the same squad as Le Ngoc Hoang, shared: “There were days when I saw Hoang staying up late to guide the soldiers in the squad in reviewing knowledge for the political education test the next day. If anyone didn't understand something, Hoang would take the time to explain it very attentively. Everyone in the squad loved and respected him.”

With the dedication and responsibility of Le Ngoc Hoang, his squad consistently leads the platoon and company in training, competitions, and sports events organized by the unit. Le Ngoc Hoang was also one of the top 10 soldiers who achieved the highest results in various events at the 2025 New Recruit Sports Festival organized by Military Region 2.

What his superiors and comrades value most about Le Ngoc Hoang is his maturity in thinking and his resilience in life. Sergeant Le Ngoc Hoang shared: “Being a member of the Party is a goal I always strive for. I want to become even more mature, contributing to building the unit and my future life.” His progressive spirit and constant efforts in the military environment have helped Hoang become one of the outstanding individuals recently selected by the Party Cell of Company 3, Party Committee of Battalion 1, 168th Artillery Brigade, to attend a Party awareness training course.

A dedicated driver on every road.

If the training ground and daily life are where Sergeant Le Ngoc Hoang demonstrates the qualities of a young, enthusiastic squad leader, then on the marching routes, Lieutenant Quang Oai Chuong, a driver in Company 2, Battalion 2, 168th Artillery Brigade, silently affirms the responsibility of a military driver.

Having dedicated himself to military driving, Quàng Oai Chương understands that behind the wheel is not just about the steering wheel, but also about the safety of people, weapons, equipment, and the unit's mission. Therefore, Chương always strictly adheres to traffic regulations and regularly checks the vehicle's technical condition before, during, and after each trip.

His teammates always saw the image of the young, diligent driver cleaning and maintaining the vehicle even after the mission was over. For Chương, keeping the vehicle in good condition also meant maintaining the technical readiness, ensuring the unit could successfully complete its mission in all situations.

In performing his duties, Quàng Oai Chương always demonstrates a high sense of responsibility, handling situations arising on the road with flexibility, ensuring absolute safety. Lieutenant Quàng Oai Chương has also achieved many accomplishments in emulation movements and campaigns launched by his unit and superiors, and is one of the outstanding young drivers of the unit.

Major Vu Tien Dat, Battalion Commander of Battalion 2, 168th Artillery Brigade, commented: “Comrade Quang Oai Chuong has a mature demeanor, a high sense of responsibility, and is always exemplary in his work. Even with difficult and complex tasks, he always completes them well, ensuring absolute safety.”

From "red seeds" like Sergeant Le Ngoc Hoang, or Lieutenant Quang Oai Chuong, it is clear that Party development work in the 168th Artillery Brigade not only focuses on quantity but also places special emphasis on quality. Each outstanding individual selected is a remarkable person in their studies, work, and training; possessing a strong will to strive, high spirit and responsibility, and a desire to contribute.

Through our research, we found that, to effectively develop the Party, the 168th Artillery Brigade focuses on recruiting outstanding members and soldiers with excellent achievements in training, work, and discipline. The selection of potential Party members is carried out openly and democratically by the Party branches and committees, linked to the completion of tasks and the moral character of each individual. The outstanding individuals selected and nurtured for Party development must not only perform their professional duties well but also possess a spirit of unity, a sense of organizational discipline, and prestige within the collective. Party branches throughout the Brigade's Party Committee strengthen the assignment of tasks and challenges to these outstanding individuals through difficult and complex assignments, intensive training periods, and various movement activities.

Thanks to effective recruitment and development of Party members, the Party Committee of the 168th Artillery Brigade has consistently met and exceeded its annual Party development targets. Since 2023 alone, the Party organizations under the 168th Artillery Brigade Party Committee have admitted 20 new Party members. Outstanding individuals selected to attend Party awareness training courses demonstrate strong motivation, contributing to the increasingly in-depth and substantive Party building work within the 168th Artillery Brigade, creating a foundation for the unit to successfully complete all assigned tasks.
