On the morning of June 15th, in Can Tho City, the Mekong Delta Representative Office of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper held a meeting to commemorate the 101st anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026) and a seminar with the theme "Meeting - Gratitude - Connection". The event aimed to meet and express gratitude to partners, collaborators, and local communities who have accompanied the newspaper.
The program brought together representatives from departments, agencies, localities, businesses, partners, collaborators, and the team of journalists who have been working with the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper in the Mekong Delta region. In a friendly atmosphere, the delegates reviewed the work journey, shared experiences, and supported each other in communication activities over the past period.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Head of the Mekong Delta Representative Office of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, affirmed that the value of journalism lies not only in the quantity of works or achievements but also in the trust, sharing, and companionship of the community.
According to Mr. Thang, the achievements of the Mekong Delta Representative Office in recent times are the collective result of the reporters and editors, the coordination of central and local agencies, the support from businesses, partners, collaborators, and especially the trust of the people in the region.
Reporting on agriculture and the environment also means delving into real-life situations. From fields and coastal areas to disaster hotspots, landslides, and stories of people's livelihoods, each assignment helps journalists more truthfully reflect the pulse of life and convey the thoughts and aspirations of the people to the authorities.

On this occasion, the Mekong Delta Representative Office would like to express its gratitude to the departments, agencies, localities, businesses, sponsors, partners, and collaborators who have accompanied the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper throughout the past period.
The program space was designed with characteristic imagery of the Mekong Delta region and the symbol "101," recalling the more than a century-long journey of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
Connecting to spread value
At the seminar, delegates, partners, and collaborating businesses of the Mekong Delta Office - Agriculture and Environment Newspaper shared their perspectives on the role of journalism in socio- economic development, promoting green agriculture, and protecting the environment.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Nhon, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, assessed that the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper has effectively supported the industry in state management, policy dissemination, and the transfer of scientific and technical information to the people.
According to Mr. Nhon, the presence of reporters at hotspots of natural disasters, landslides, epidemics, or production models has contributed to spreading accurate information and increasing the effectiveness of policy communication.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Thanh Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, believes that the press is playing a crucial role in the transition from a production-oriented mindset to an agricultural economy. After the merger, the larger scale of production also places higher demands on information connectivity between production, science and technology, and the market; in which the press continues to be an effective channel for disseminating new models and values.

Besides the panel discussion, the program also included cultural exchange activities, sharing of professional experiences, and meetings between generations of journalists and partners. The stories behind each trip and each work contributed to rekindling professional pride and further motivating the team of journalists.
The 101st anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day is not only an occasion to honor journalists but also an opportunity to express gratitude to the collectives and individuals who have contributed to creating newspapers that are rich in life, full of social responsibility, and continue to accompany the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region.
