The latest series of leaked images and videos of models are revealing a close-up look at the potential design of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, promising significant changes for this super product.

As Apple prepares to unveil the iPhone 17 series, the tech community is eagerly awaiting confirmation of rumors surrounding an iPhone Pro Max with increased thickness.

Answering the question of how "thick" the device is, a new video that has gone viral on social media has quickly attracted great attention. In particular, this source also published a direct comparison image of the iPhone 17 Pro Max with the iPhone 16 Pro, further increasing curiosity.

The 33-second video, posted on social media X by popular leaker Majin Bu with the caption "iPhone 17 Pro is beautiful", outlines a detailed simulation of the device.

According to the model, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a camera cluster the same color as the back, a notable difference from many previous leaks that showed a black rear camera cluster. This detail also matches information from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who is known for his reliable inside sources about Apple.

The video also shows the camera panel that spans almost the entire width of the body, made of glass, allowing the iPhone's colors to show through.

In terms of thickness, some reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro Max could be significantly thicker than its predecessors. Specifically, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.25mm thick, the successor is predicted to be up to 8.725mm, a difference of 0.475mm.

While this increase doesn’t seem like much in the video, it’s expected to bring benefits in terms of improved battery life. Apple could also be curving the edges to reduce the bulkiness of the product.

The leaked model retains the familiar buttons: volume and action buttons on the left side; power button and recording/capture button on the right side. Another notable detail is the presence of a SIM tray, suggesting that this could be an international version, unlike the US version which only uses eSIM and has a mmWave antenna in this position.

Other notable upgrades on the iPhone 17 series

Besides the design changes, a series of other leaked information about the configuration and features of the iPhone 17 series are also attracting great attention.

Recent reports say the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and the rumored "thinnest" version, the iPhone 17 Air, will all come with 12GB of RAM, while the standard iPhone 17 will have 8GB.

In particular, the new "metalens" technology could be applied to the proximity sensor, reducing the size of the Face ID sensor and opening up the possibility of miniaturizing the Dynamic Island.

Initially, analyst Jeff Pu said that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max would get this upgrade, but later updated that the entire iPhone 17 series would be equipped with this technology. However, contrary to the above view, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Dynamic Island on this new product will not have many significant changes.

Also according to Jeff Pu, the entire iPhone 17 line will likely return to using aluminum frames, including the Pro models that have switched to titanium since the iPhone 15 generation. Notably, only the iPhone 17 Air is said to use a titanium frame for increased rigidity.

This is quite surprising information and needs to be verified further when Apple officially launches the product.

In terms of processors, Jeff Pu predicts that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will use the A19 chip (or A18 for the standard 17 version, similar to the iPhone 16). Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are said to use the A19 Pro chip.

Apple's retention of previous-generation chips for the standard version isn't unprecedented, but the news still leaves many skeptical.

In terms of cameras, all iPhone 17 models are rumored to have a 24MP front camera. Notably, the rear camera of the Pro and Pro Max versions, all three lenses, can have a resolution of 48MP.

Overall, the leaked information above paints a promising picture of the iPhone 17 series, especially the Pro Max version with major changes in design and performance.

However, all of this information is still just rumors. The technology community will need to wait for official announcements from Apple to have the most accurate view of what the company will bring in the future.
