At the end of the 19th century, coffee trees were introduced to Vietnam, then developed most strongly in the Central Highlands, especially in Dak Lak - the "Coffee Capital" with the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand. Existing and developing for more than 100 years, Buon Ma Thuot coffee has strongly expanded to more than 100 countries and territories, affirming that the flavor of Vietnam's Robusta coffee is number 1 in the world.

Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival

With the aim of introducing and promoting Buon Ma Thuot coffee to domestic and international consumers, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province organized the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival for the first time in 2005, which has been going on for 20 years - a journey to promote the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand and the traditional culture of the 49 ethnic groups in Dak Lak.

The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival (March 9 - 13, 2025) is a national-scale cultural event, organized with many investment promotion activities, introducing the land and people of Dak Lak plateau, the Central Highlands gong cultural space - Oral masterpiece and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, scenic spots... along with a series of activities promoting Buon Ma Thuot coffee culture, unique and impressive in the programs: opening ceremony, closing ceremony, street festival, light festival, Farmers' competition, coffee camp, free coffee drinking...

Coffee is not only a refreshing drink, but also has many benefits for physical health, is a source of awakening and creative energy to draw dreams, plan a bright future. Perhaps, the sunshine and wind of the highlands and the flavor of coffee in the daily drinks of the people of Dak Lak have given birth to beautiful, individual girls, with the temperament of confidence and strength, full of compassion. Two of them are Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Top 5 Miss Universe World 2018 - H'Hen Nie and Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 - Dinh Thi Hoa. These outstanding faces are the media ambassadors of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, joining hands with the Organizing Committee to spread the beauty of their homeland's culture, bringing an image that is both rich in tradition and modern, dynamic, a destination for world coffee.
