On April 9, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) unanimously elected Vietnam to the Executive Council of the United Nations (UN) Agency on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). term 4-2025.
Accordingly, from January 1 to the end of 2025, Vietnam will participate in coordinating the development and implementation of UN Women's major orientations, ensuring that the agency's strategies and activities are consistent with UN Women's goals. The UN's overall goals and policies on promoting gender equality and empowering women.
As a member of the Executive Council, Vietnam will also participate in the process of approving plans, activity programs as well as administrative, financial and budgetary decisions of UN Women.
