The Vietnamese national team dropped one place in the FIFA rankings.

Coach Kim Sang Sik's team dropped one place, falling to 108th in the world rankings with a total of 1,189.51 points. The drop wasn't due to poor performance, but primarily stemmed from technical factors in FIFA's point calculation system. Since the last ranking was announced, the "Golden Star Warriors" haven't played any official international matches, meaning their points weren't added and they were overtaken by other teams.

The Vietnamese national team's last match was in November 2025, when they defeated Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Following this match, the team had no international matches scheduled for over two months.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese national team will reconvene in March to prepare for the crucial match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. This is not only a decisive clash for qualification but also has a direct impact on the team's FIFA ranking and points.

In Southeast Asia, the Vietnamese team still holds the second position, behind Thailand, which is ranked 96th in the world. The following positions belong to Malaysia (121), Indonesia (122) and the Philippines (136). In this group, Malaysia and Indonesia have no change in ranking.

In Asia, the Vietnamese national team is currently ranked 19th, just behind Kyrgyzstan. Japan remains the leading team in the region, followed by Iran, South Korea, Australia, and Uzbekistan.

At the top of the table, the order remains largely unchanged, with Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, and the Netherlands occupying the top seven positions. Morocco stands out by rising to eighth place thanks to their run to the CAN Cup final. Senegal also climbed seven places to 12th after winning the CAN Cup.

FIFA is expected to announce the next ranking on April 1st.
