According to a resolution passed by the Board of Directors of Vietravel (stock code: VTR) on November 21, 2025, the company will divest its entire stake in Vietravel Airlines before December 31, 2025, and simultaneously terminate its right to use the "Vietravel" brand for the airline.

In other developments, Vietravel Airlines, after being acquired by T&T Group, is also undergoing a comprehensive restructuring of ownership and operations, with rebranding identified as the next step.

Speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, a representative stated that Vietravel Airlines will switch to a new brand name, independent of the Vietravel Tourism Group's ecosystem.

In fact, after T&T Group became a strategic shareholder, Vietravel Airlines has made notable adjustments. In 2025, the airline will switch from a leasing to an ownership model, receiving its first owned Airbus A321, then adding an Airbus A320, and is expected to continue increasing its fleet in the future.

This move comes amid rapid growth in Vietnam's domestic aviation market.

In 2025, Vietnam Airlines transported over 25 million passengers, an increase of nearly 13% compared to the same period and accounting for approximately 46% of the domestic market share. Vietjet Air received an additional 22 new aircraft during the year, bringing the total number of aircraft in operation to over 100.

Following its restructuring, Bamboo Airways also aims to restore its fleet to approximately 30 aircraft in the coming years. The expansion of major airlines indicates a continued increase in demand for air travel, while simultaneously intensifying competitive pressure in the market.

Along with the recovery of airlines, the national aviation infrastructure has also received significant investment. The Long Thanh International Airport project in Dong Nai, with a total planned area of approximately 5,000 hectares and a total investment of over 109,000 billion VND in the first phase, has completed its main infrastructure components and is expected to receive its first commercial flight by the end of 2025.
